RTO Jammu & Kashmir

The Jammu RTO fulfills a variety of functions, including administrative and law enforcement functions:

• The RTO Office in Jammu is responsible for more than just car registration in Jammu & Kashmir. The entity is also responsible for issuing temporary and permanent vehicle registration certificates, processing vehicle ownership transfer activities, changing registration details, and looking into the renewal of registration certificates/issuance of licenses, among other things.
• You could apply for an international driving license at the RTO Office in Jammu. This can also be done on the specific webpage.
• The RTO Jammu conducts vehicle inspections in relation to pollution levels.
• The RTO is responsible for collecting road taxes as required by the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988.
• By applying to the RTO, you can receive both commercial-purpose and private-use driving licenses. You can also apply online through the Jammu RTO website.

Any vehicle driven in J&K state, like in other states, must be registered under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. The vehicle must be registered within 15 days after purchase, and you must have valid bike insurance coverage in order to file for registration. Submit the following documents, along with any required fees, to the zonal transport department. The following documents must be attested by a notary public or a gazetted officer:

1. Form 20 must be completed and signed by the applicant.
2. Form 21 – the automobile dealer's selling certificate.
3. Form 22 is a certificate of roadworthiness.
4. A copy of your auto insurance policy.
5. Two pieces of attested address proof
6. If the vehicle was purchased on loan, Form 34 must be signed by both the applicant and the financier.
7. Proof of birth date.
8. Receipt of payment for road taxes.
9. Print of a car's chassis.
10. There is a registration cost.
11. Photographs in passport size that have been self-attested.
12. PAN Card or Form 60 & 61, whichever is applicable (2 copies).

1. An applicant can download the form from jk.gov.in, fill it out, and send it to the RTO office along with the requisite documents.
2. The applicant could also apply for the permanent driving license by visiting parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/. Applying through this website allows the applicant to fill out and submit the form online, as well as upload documents and pay costs.
3. Another option for applying for a driving license in J&K is to go to jk.gov.in/jkeservices/home.action and log in with his citizen ID and password.
4. The applicant must visit the RTO with the original documents after applying through any of the following ways.
5. The candidate must then schedule a driving test appointment.
6. Attend the driving test; if he passes, he will be awarded the DL in a few weeks.
