Adani Power posted its quarterly results for Q4 FY22 on May 5, 2022.?
The company’s consolidated PAT jumped to Rs 4,645 crore during the recent March quarter from Rs 218 crore in the previous quarter.
Adani Power’s revenue from operations increased 97.7% QoQ to Rs 10,597 crore. On a YoY basis, the revenue from operations jumped 66.2% to Rs 10,597 crore from Rs 6,373 crore in the year-ago period.?
The sharp jump in Adani Power’s Q4 FY22 numbers was largely attributed to the growing electricity demand in the country driven by economic growth and the onset of a heatwave in North-Western India.
Aggregate energy demand for FY 2021-22 across the nation was 1,380 Billion Units, registering a growth of 8.2% over FY21. Similarly, peak power demand registered a growth of 6.7% to reach a record level of 203 GW in FY22 as compared to FY21.?
The peak power deficit widened to 1.2% during FY 2021-22, as compared to 0.4% during FY 2020-21, while the energy deficit was steady at 0.4%.
As a result of supply constraints in face of a growing demand for power, the average market clearing price of electricity on exchanges rose to Rs. 8.23/kWh in the Day-Ahead Market in March 2022.
Adani Power’s stock closed in the green at Rs 278.15 per share after a 4.43% surge after the end of the intraday trading session on May 5, 2022, after the company posted its quarterly results.
